My pcp, a PA, referred me to an ENT for a large cyst-like lump (approx 7cm, diam). I have developed almost complete hearing loss in that ear (R. ear-dx by standard audiology exam),and often have head pain/jaw pain/ear pain on that side of my head. ENT office suggested contacting a neurosurgeon as well. Neurosurgeon referred back to PCP. I know this loop is a common issue in health care referral today, from working in ER/trauma/CC as a tech. Would you suggest I make appointments with both, and what tests can I expect to need done?
