What Is The Treatment For Loose Motion And High Fever?

My daughter is 4 years old. Has been exhausted for 4 days now, no appetite, gassy, complains of upset stomach when does eat. Had high fever on first day, but that broke in the night and temp has been fine since. Good temperament. Managing to keep fluids in. Stool runny, but no solids for 4 days so thinking that would be expected.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your 4 year old daughter and understood the concerns.
Runny stool, bloating on eating, initial fever and other symptoms indiccate that your daughter is most probably suffering from intestinal infection, may be viral or bacterial.
Hence I would advise you teh following in such a situation:
Get the stool and blood tests done.
Consult a Pediatrician for clinical evaluation, examination and further investigations as would be advised by the Pediatrician.
A course of an antibiotic, probiotics may be needed if there is any evidence of bacterial infection.
I find this answer helpful
