What Is The Treatment For Lichen Planus?

Dear doctor, My wife has been suffering with Lichen Planus as confirmed by a Oral Health specialist. The doc did a biopsi and confirmed that it is nothing more than Lichen Planus. He prescribed Orrepaste and some tablets for mouth gargle. My wife has been using the paste and the gargling but no improvements. She has been having this problem for the last 7-8 months. What have you to say?

Hello sir,

Regarding the treatment of Lichen planus, topical steroids are the primary treatment of choice.
Orrepaste is one of them.
Continue using the same and the mouth rinse as prescribed.
Apart from this, remember that oral hygiene should be optimum.
You can consult an oral pathologist ( specialist of oral conditions like lichen planus ) for further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Neha.
