Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, i am 23 y/o and am currently getting over the stomach flu, all symptoms are gone except for nausea and diarrhea. The problem is now i cannot get an erection, i was perfectly fine in that area before getting sick. I would like to know could my erection problem have anything to do with me having the stomach flu
Dear service user, Thank you for writing to Healthcaremagic.
I read your concerns about erectile dysfunction after stomach flu (Gastroenteritis). Gastroenteritis itself does not cause erectile dysfunction. The medications used to treat the gastroenteritis can rarely cause erectile dysfunction (ED). If it is so, it should be temporary. When one stops medications, ED recovers.
If your problem persists for more than two weeks after stopping the medicines, meet the urologist for same. He will definitely assist you.
I hope I addressed your concern properly. Feel free to ask again if you need so. Wish you good health.
