What Is The Treatment For Kidney Stone?

i have a kidney stone. I'm waiting for it to pass, but I've also noticed that it is difficult for me to urinate. Even though I need to "go", I have to sit for several minutes before the flow will start. Although I have severe back and side pain, urination is not painful. Should I be concerned about the difficulty in getting the urine flow to start?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello,

You could have written your age and details about your kidney stone. You need to see a urologist and do tests to diagnose cause of symptoms. The kidney stone treatment depends on its size and if it affects the kidney. Drink about 3 liters of fluids daily. Avoid plain milk and dairy products.

The difficulty in passing urine may be due to prostate gland enlargement.
1. Urine routine and culture
2. Blood routine, creatinine, RBS, LFT and platelets. PSA if above 45
3. Uroflowmetry
4. Ultrasound, KUB with residual urine.

According to the reports an expert advice can be given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matthew J. Mangat
