What Is The Treatment For Irregular Periods?

Hello. I am 21 years old. I have irregular periods. My last period was July 6th-12th. So, my menses can show up any day. Today, I have had period like cramps, and cramping where my ovaries are. When I use the bathroom, and wipe, there is VERY light pink. Is this my period starting to come? Or what could this possibly be?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query. With irregular periods, it is difficult to predict the date of ovulation, if at all. Hence, this spotting can be a premenstrual bleed, an implantation bleed if you are sexually active without any contraception or a breakthrough bleed if hormone imbalance is the cause of your irregular menstrual cycles. You should proceed by excluding pregnancy first through the blood test, follow it up with a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram to know the status of the pelvic organs and go for a complete hormone profile, blood counts and urinalysis along with a complete clinical exam. Please maintain a healthy weight, healthy diet and regular exercise. Hope this helps.
