What Is The Treatment For Insomnia As Antidepressants Did Not Work?

I ve been having problems getting to sleep for a couple of years, won t fall asleep till 2/3 and always feel tired. I ve tried some antihistamines before and an antidepressant however they didn t really help much. After it getting worse and me scared to sleep due to a fear of spiders, the doctor has prescribed me alimenazine tartrate 10mg to take 1 or 2 before bed. I ve looked it up online and can not see anything about it being used for sleep. Is this a good medication to help me sleep? I told the doctor I need something to get me through exams in the next month and will then sort out my issues in the summer (depression, anxiety)

Hi.

I had gone through your query.

Only antidepressant can not help to restore good sleep.

Certain antidepressant has dual role like mirtazapine. It is work as antidepressant And sedative also.

Depression with insomnia can be treated with medicine like combination of SSRI and benzodiazapine. In SSRI escitalopram combination with clonazepam can help.

so add on low dose benzodiazapine can help for good sleep.

Discuss with your treating doctor about it.
