What Is The Treatment For High Blood Pressure?

My mother is taking atenolol 25mg for elevated blood pressure, but is giving her a lot of unpleasant side effects as, blurred vision, dizziness, lightheaded, weakness, and sudden drop in blood pressure down to sometimes 90/ 50. She spoke to her doctor about this and maybe changing the medication but the doctor said that her complaints were not related to this medication. Can you recommend another medication that would not give her these side effects.

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

There are several classes of drugs and several drugs in each class…
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.
Do NOT stop her drug (atenolol is Beta blocker) suddenly / taper it over some time…
Need to investigate other causes for her symptoms...

Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
