I just noticed that I have dark bruising all over my lower abdominal and upper pelvic area. I am on birth control and take the pill everyday. But I am still getting my period when I m only supposed to get it once every three months. I have been diagnosed with severe endometriosis. And I know I have a dermoid cyst on my ovary. It hurts bad. What can I do. Or what is it?
Hello dear Understand your concern Following treatment are used for endometriosis after consulting the gynaecologist. Following are treatments of endometriosis: 1. Hormonal therapy: Progestrone or Oral contraceptive pills - Danazole and gestrinone - GnRH agonist - NSAIDS for pain relief
If above treatment does not help then
2. Surgery: if associated with sever pain and infertility - Excision of endometrium and adhesion with preservation of uterus and ovary should be done.
Dermoid cyst should be differentiated from the poly cystic disease by doing hormonal study, USG scan and Ovarian follicle study. It should be removed by surgery. Hope this may help you
