What Is The Treatment For Endometriosis, Depression, And Irregular Periods?
I think my daughter needs a complete blood work up, hormonal wise. She is 25 married for 1 year, as had problems with sever depression and periods. She had a bad case of endometrioses (??) had surgery 2 years a go follow by a year of shots once a month. I'm sorry I don't remember the name we had to get them from the drug company because of the cost. She feels the endormetroses is back. She is on birth control and anti depression med. She has no sex drive, which is causing her more depression. Also she continues to gain weight she does try to eat right and she works out at least 4 times a week and is active. After all of that my thought is she has never had her hormones checked. What would we ask for at the dr office and will they take us serious?
I agree with you that your daughter needs to get the levels of hormones in her body assessed. Hormonal abnormalities can contribute to all three, endometriosis, depression, irregular menses and can also cause weight gain. Apart from reproductive hormones, she should also get levels of thyroid hormone tested as it can cause depression, weight gain as well as irregular menses. The shots that you mentioned is also likely have been a hormone, most probably Lupron which is a gonadotrophin releasing hormone receptor agonist.
Best wishes.
