I have ear infections in both ears due to a very bad cold that settled in the inner or middle ear. The doctor gave me medication and drops for the pain. I have no pain as to an ear ach but feel a lot of pressure in the ears. I feel as though I am in a tunnel or under water when people are talking to me. Is this normal or is the pressure something I should be concerned about? I also causes me to get head achs.
I would explain that your symptoms are suggestive of an inner ear infection. You should know that common flue can lead to nasal congestion and thus block the drainage of the inner ears, which become congested too. This may lead to an inner ear infection.
If this situation persists, antibiotics may be needed. But, before coming to this conclusion, I recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
