What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea In An Infant?

My five month old was having vinegar smelling diarrhea yesterday, and today his first poop of the day was thick black in color and had a metallic smell. He had apple sauce before his bath last night, i tried cereal with peas earlier in the day which he has had before, but wasn't wanting yesterday. My Another unknowing gave him a couple chunks of cottage cheese. He has been eating solids for about two weeks now, and we haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary until the last two days. Prior to yesterday he hadn't had solid food for 3 days. I am wondering if we should take him into the clinic.

Pediatrician 's  Response
greeting,
so that means you started weaning your child.
though ideally the breast milk should be given for exclusively for 6 months and then only weaning should be started.anyways.
once you start weaning at that time there is something called as transitional diarrhoea.it should settle with time.
and it results in a little upset in nature of stool etc.
make sure you give child the right type of weaning food.
Hope this helps.
regards.
