Hi.I am 51year old active female, apart from this have no other health problems. I have repeated urinary tract infections. Sometimes symptoms are with cystitis, sometimes not. always have loin pain, headache, feverish, confusion and nausea, very lethargic. dip test is not always positive, urinary mid stream sample does rarely grow anything. I have a rectocele and am awaiting surgery. I have had repeated episodes of urinary retention. I had a urethral dilation 2 years ago. Cystoscopy showed bladder was very distended following retention of 1.8 litres urine. ureters were not explored. Suffered this problem for over 10 years. There was no sign of interstitial cystitis. .
