What Is The Treatment For Cystic Acne?

hi i am a 22 year old fair skinned girl of 55kg weight. i have acne breakout for last 20 days. i had this breakout before 2 months also . at that time my doctor gave me azhithral 500 and isotroin 10 along with microbenz 3.5 gel. i am again using the same combination this time also. is it ok to use it. i have very red, painful and cystic acne. i had lot of acne in my teenage and then it stopped eventually...i just want to know why this breakout is happening again and what is the remanent solution for this. also can you kindly tell a good substitute for microbenz 3.5 gel because after applying it for 4 days last time i got redness and swelling all over the face.

Hi,

As you said you suffer from acne vulgaris. You have relapses of lesions off and on. Azithromycine and isotretinoin controlled your acne lesions. But after stoppage, you again developed. And now your lesions are cystic acne. And benzoyl peroxide gel causes irritation. I would like to suggest few alterations in your treatment. You may take minocycline 50 mg in morning and isotretinoin 5 mg low dose at night. You may apply clindamycine gel on the lesions. Cystic lesions might respond to intralesional steroid injection. But for that you consult dermatologist.

Have patience for the result. Have positive attitude. Avoid anxiety and stress. You might get good result after few months treatment. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
