What Is The Treatment For Cough?

my father had difficulty swallowing food after taking 2 courses of antiobtics due to cough. He is not well and it takes times to swallow down food. He is not a smoker and he is 75 years old. Will he get well after treatment of cough or cancer. How much more time can he stays alife. It just happen 2 months ago.

I can understand your concern.
He is having coughing and his cough is mostly due to swallowing difficulty.
So we should rule out esophageal obstructive lesion in his case.
So better to first consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI scopy to rule out any obstructive lesion in esophagus.
If this is normal then get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). Chest x ray is needed to rule lung infection. PFT is needed to rule bronchitis. Both lung infection and bronchitis can cause chronic cough.
So consult doctor and discuss all these.
