HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

After an acute upper respiratory tract infection, it is possible have a cough that persists for a few weeks.

It is due to the lingering effects of the virus.

It is also possible that you may have allergic rhinitis and allergic sinusitis contributing to your symptoms.

You may want to consider the use of a topical steroid nasal spray and nasal decongestant to help with the nasal discharge.

The use of a mucolytic would help with breaking up the mucus so that is is more easily expelled.

I hope this helps

HI
Well come to HCM
Any cough symptom if persistence since more than couple of week then this need to be brought to investigation, and x-ray chest, blood examination, sputum examination, would be necessary, to rule out the underlying cause, some time allergic condition may long last, but still symptom need to be investigated, take care.
