What Is The Treatment For Cervical Lymphadenopathy, neck Stiffness, hoarse Sound And Should I Go For PET CT Scan?

I has condom protected sex with csw but for three seconds I performed clitoris licking. On the ninth day i had fever mild but have chillness, weakness with it. Fever lasted for three days and then intermittent temp. for five more days . I have had many symptoms for hiv infection , all possible mentioned in books. But thank to god all my test are negative. I have had many tridot test upto six months all are negative. I have had RNA DNA PCR , three times upto four months all negative, Duo test upto four months , negative and have had hiv quantitative PCR on six months , that was also below sensitivity which doctor predicted as negative. You may see my history on my dashboard and all other symptoms I had that time. Now my main problem is right from August start i noticed that my neck nodes were visibly appeared and swollen, and because of that I had pain and weakness like feeling in my shoulder for months like four months. I had sonography for that nodes and my report was multiple enlarged bilateral cervical node with central fattly hilium largest measuring 20x8 in right submandibular region level IB more likely inflammatory or infective cervical adenopathy. On right level two largest measuring 20x8 mm in size at IB at II few largest 9x4 mm III 6x2 mm on left levels 13x5 mm lart flat node measure 20x4 mm at II and at III 6x3 mm Which I showed it to one oncologist doctor who is good doctor and he told me it was normal. But this nodes are remained swollen from August till now. I again had sonography in November and report was same no change in nodes swelling. Doctor has given me disperzyme and other medicines for inflammatory swelling but no change till now. Right from July start when first I had fever for two weeks , weightloss, extreme weakness for months, swollen tongue, white tongue I have been taking many antibiotics but still there is no relief and nodes are remained swollen. I actually was confused with hiv like symptoms and did not pursue swellling seriously and waited upto six months. Since my six months hiv test is negative so I can assume I am negative and now my tension again rose. Why my nodes are swollen? From December middle I had viral infection but at that times my sound got hoarse which remained little hoarse for while then I had little improvement for few days then from 1 January I developed cough for no reason with hoarse sound. Initially sputum was yellow for two days but after that it is white and sticky. till time I have consumed 8 cough syrup so my coughing is improved now and I cough very less now but my sound is still hoarse and there is no change in it. Initially I was coughing very regularly but it is very less now but intensity is very severe and some time after coughing I feel like breathless for few seconds. My hoarse sound is my main concern, it has remained hoarse for almost one month and very little relief. My all cervical nodes are swollen and no relief. Now some times my neck get stiff and being little regular now with head ache . A very few times I had feeling of urine dripping and felt like I could not urinate completely. I met and ENT doctor also and he think it is nothing and giving me meds for tension but I feel is overlooking my concerns for sound hoarseness and finding not serious. I have had sinus so he is telling it is due to acid reflux.I am in regular touch with oncologist and after seeing my sonography and touching my nodes he is telling it is normal. It was little comfort , but as time is passing and with no relief in nodes swelling and this sound problem I am being paranoid because every symptoms is like stuck with no relief . All symptoms are worrying signs like hoarseness, cervical lymphadenopathy. Now in my last visit to oncologist their hospital is inaugrating PET CT machine so my doctor told me after feeling my lymph nodes that these are normal but since i am very nervous I must have and PET CT scan and it will give my clear idea for 2 years. But my question is What is your true opinion? sometimes I believe ENT and oncologist doctor was hesitating for biopsy because of my above mentioned risk, I may be wrong . But PET CT is again source of radiation and there are contradicting report of its use. Is using PET CT will be right for my case? As it is very expensive so again I am very concern as in some report it is said it is unable to differentiate between normal and malign tumor. Its long term side effects are also matter of worry to me. What should be right approach for my case with cervical lymphadenopathy, neck stiffness with hoarse sound. I have earlier been operated for gall bladder polyp in 2012 and diagosis of polyp was infection of gall bladder so some time I think whether this report was right. I have had piles so so time I get worry for this angle also and I always have had feeling of something sticking in my throat which as per my doctor was due to acidity. Sorry for such long post but please give your opinion in detail.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Your current problem is cervical lympadenopathy, hoarseness of voise and stiff neck.
You have had a viral infection and associated sputum.
This history is suggestive of infectious lymphadenopathy.
Thus, it is advisable to rule out infection at the first hand.
I would suggest you to get an aspiration cytology of the cervical lymph node.
In aspiration cytology the cells from the lymph node are aspirated with a fine needle, spread on a slide and stained with appropriate stain.
The investigation will tell whether the lymph node enlargement is infectious or neoplastic.
Further you need to refer an ENT specialist for hoarseness of voice.
A complete clinical assessment of the throat is required.
Further a X-ray chest can also be done to look for any abnormality in the lung parenchyma.

Consult your primary health care provider for clinical examination and prescription of relevant investigations.

Thanks and take care
