Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Noted the history about a working lady of 46 years of age having gas and burping problems since 6 months, now feeling acute chest and back pain on the left side and frequent loose stools but not the loose motions. Antacids do not help. As per the history given by you this looks to be irritable bowel syndrome that is IBS in short. It has the component of anxiety and/or stress causing aerophagia and hence the gases and burping.

I would advise you the following:

- Get the stool, blood and urine checked.
- Ultrasound of abdomen, CT scan if required.
- Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy.

If anything is found in any of the investigations, then get treated accordingly. If all the investigations are normal, this is to be taken as IBS and symptomatic treatment with a PPI, domperidone, anxiolytics to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
