I use inhaler Seroflo250 (2 puffs - morning evening), Duolin (SOS) for controlling my Asthma/COPD.
Yesterday i started taking Monlek LC and it has tremendously improved my breathlessness and i feel like never having this disease.
Can you tell me about Montek LC and if this med can be taken lifelong?

Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history, would like to know more about you like your age, your complaints in detail, your environment, your habits, other medical conditions, etc.

However, at present, from your given history, I would like to make suggestions for you as follows:

1. Asthma and COPD are different types of disorders. It is very important to distinguish between the two to chose more specific medicines and line of treatment.

I usually suggest my patients spirometry with post-bronchodilator reversibility testing, which helps to differentiate between the two.

2. If you have asthma, I would also suggest you allergy testing for common air-borne allergens such as house dust mites, molds, pollens, insect proteins, animal dander, etc.

This will help you identify the allergens as well as to know the measures to avoid them.

3. Based on allergy testing, an Allergist-Immunologist may prescribe you allergen specific immunotherapy which works on immune system to gradually improve allergy symptoms over a long time.

4. In general, please avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution as much as possible.

5. Some inhalers improve both asthma and COPD symptoms. But proper diagnosis and spirometry will help your doctor better to choose more appropriate inhalers.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish you the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
