What Is The Treatment For An Ear Ache?

I really banged my head earlier today and my ear is very sore since. It feels like I stuck a q-tip down to far. It's just a dull ache. right after I bashed my head I was getting sharp pains in my ear like someone was sticking a needle in my ear. That has since stopped. Now it just aches.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having ear ache after head banged on. Need not to worry. If episodes of earache are getting frequent then you should consult ENT specialist once. Doctor may prescribe drug like eperisone , muscle relaxant and sedatives. Maintain hygiene and avoid pricking it with sharp object. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax buildup , middle ear infection. Doctor may treat it according to the diagnosis , may prescribe medicine antibiotics.
