What Is The Treatment For Adrenal Gland Problem?

My adrenal glands were just tested and the results indicated that they can work but are not producing enough cortizol. My dr informed me that the problem must be with my pituitary gland. I have been waiting for my inurance to aprove my endocronology referal for a couple of weeks since the testing was done. Since then my symptoms seem to be getting worse. Some days are better that others. I am experiencing extreme lathargy, weakness, dizziness, my sight turns fuzzy or dark to completley black when I stand up, feeling like I can never catch my breath, leg muscle pains, hip pains, confusion, memory problems, word retrival problems, back pains, headache, nausia, and stomach pains. I sometimes feel like my body weighs 1000 pounds and I have to lay on the couch all day. On days like that I cannot even focus on a tv show, I spend most of the days like that staring at the wall because I can't focus on anything else. At what point should I go to an emergency room, or should I just continue waiting for the insurance company to aprove me to go to the endocronologist to do more testing?

Hi dear user
Your adrenal glands produce too little cortisol because of the problem in your pituitary gland that is the gland that control most of the glands in our body. This condition is called secondary adrenal insufficiency and it can be life-threatening.Treatment for secondary adrenal insufficiency involves taking hormones to replace the insufficient amounts being made by your adrenal glands.
Sudden, severe worsening of adrenal insufficiency symptoms is called adrenal crisis.Symptoms of adrenal crisis include: sudden, severe pain in the lower back, abdomen, or legs; severe vomiting and diarrhea ; dehydration
low blood pressure ; loss of consciousness.Attention :If not treated, an adrenal crisis can cause death.
If I am in your situation I would rush to an Emergency Room if there are any of above symptoms of the adrenal crisis.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Best regards.
