What Is The Treatment For Abnormal Bowel Movements After Quitting Smoking?

Since I quit smoking and taking Ibuprofens about a year ago, my bowel movements have become increasingly worse. from bright red in stools, to yellow, green, diarrhoea followed by long bouts of severe constipation. My stools are quite small usually quite narrow now, but not as narrow as pencil stool usually. A couple of times I saw black bowel movements, as really black after a night of heavy drinking. I dont smoke, drink or taking ibuprofens any longer but problem seems to be getting worse, I have also now slow diggestion never had that problem, constant gas, and lately sharp pain in my lower left abdomen, but not very painful, just sometimes.
My bowel movements are usually hairy, sometimes lots of mucus, so Im very concerned, I will try to get appointed for a colonoscopy but any advice can help. dont want to think the worse, but symptoms seem very alarming.
