What Is The Treatment For A Swollen Lymph Node Behind The Ear ?

Hi I am 23 year old female and I have a swollen lymph node behind the top part of my ear and I have swollen tonsils, irritated nose and my ears hurt a lot of the time. I get a lot of head aches and my lymph node has been swollen for about 7 months now and now my neck lymph nodes are swollen. What is the cause of this?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your problem and share your concern.
Lymph node swelling in neck for a few days is known in majority of acute infections of Ear nose throat. But persistent swelling for 7 months is a cause of concern, but no need to be worried too much.
If I were your doctor, I would have got done an ultrasound of the neck to know the echotexture of nodes.
If there are few prominent nodes, I would think of getting done a FNAC.
Mostly reactive lymphadenitis are secondary to either sinusitis or tonsillitis, but I want to make sure. You might need a long antibiotic course.
Please plan to see an ENT specialist or an internist for further action.
Hope I have answered your questions
All the best
