What Is The Treatment For A Cyst In The Scrotum?

Hi, for about a month, I ve had a small (less than the size of a pea) cyst , located inside my scrotum at the very bottom and centered. On the outside of the scrotum is a red area of skin about the same size. It is never painful but uncomfortable. It seemed to shrink in size since I originally found it but for 2 days in the beginning, I felt inflammation where the left testicle descends from, (which is nowhere near the area). However, ibuprofen took that away in less than a day. After I shower or don t sweat for awhile it doesn t feel uncomfortable at all, as if it s not even there, but i describe the uncomfortable feeling as a tugging. Sort of like the hair is getting snagged on something while I move but it isn t. I am very concerned and was recently treated for anxiety and this definitely isn t helping me. I am simply asking if this sounds familiar to anyone or if this could be thought of as going away either on it s own or with simple treatment. It is in a sensitive area and I cannot get my mind off of it. This is ruining me.

Hello
Thanks for query.
Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have a Sebaceous Cyst over scrotum.

The scrotal skin is rich in sebaceous glands and hence prone to get more sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.

Normally they fade away without treatment however they need to be treated if increase in size or get infected.

Please consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical evaluation and further treatment.
If needed you may need to get it excised in Toto (Completely along with
the sac).

This is a simple surgery done under local anesthesia as a out patient procedure.
