What Is The Treatment For Gastroenteritis?

I am just getting over a GI Bug. I had vomiting and diarrhea at the same time most of the night-before last, but since then have had terrible heart palpitations whenever I move around very much. Is this normal? I am trying to eat a little bit, but still feel rotten. Please help!

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Vomiting with diarrhea can be due to viral or bacterial gastroenteritis.
Stool and blood tests help to know the cause and if this is bacterial your Doctor will certainly give you a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics along with symptomatic treatment with a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and Antacids as required. Supportive treatment in the form of electrolyte solution, activated charcoal helps a lot.
Take plenty of fluids wot avoid dehydration.
Use only boiled and cooled water; homemade foods only.
Get the proper opinion of your Doctor and follow the instructions.
