What Is The Time For A Fracture To Heal?

Hi, my son is 11 years and was hit by a speedy bike while crossing road. He fractured his tibia / febula bone in his left leg. The doctor has put external metal pins since 6 weeks and also blocked his ankle. Can you please tell me what is the nornal healing time for this type of fracture.
