What Is The Stool Test Report Of My Child Suggestive Of?
Hi, my 4 1/2months baby is having green loose stools for past 10 days after penta & Ipv vaccination. Suddenly jelly like with dark brown blood color came twice Took usg scan and results are normal... no intussusception. Stool routine: reducing substance present. BW:2.98kg now 6.4kg. What else should do? Pls suggest.
Based on the history given your baby seems to have developed lactose intolerance. It results from inability to fully digest the sugar (lactose) in milk due to deficiency of lactase (which helps in digestion of lactose).
This problem can be prevented by
1. Giving over-the-counter lactase enzyme supplement. 1. Avoiding large servings of milk and other dairy products or 2. Giving lactose-reduced or lactose free ice cream and milk
She needs to be examined by a pediatrician to assess the degree of dehydration and treatment.
Hope this will help her.
