What Is The Solution For Severe Pain?

Yes, thank you. I was prescribed hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen 7.5 mg / 500 mg. I was on morphine sulphate sa 15 mg for 8 years. I stopped the morphine by myself but the pain makes it hard to sleep. The VA gave me the hydrocodone for the pain but it keeps me awake all night. what should I do?

Hello
As you were taking MORPHINE 15 mg for almost 8 years and stopped by yourself .
Now you are taking hydrocodon+ acetaminophen , so I want to tell you one thing clearly that morphine is a most potent ( strong ) pain killer and also an habit forming drug ( there develops addiction).
While hydrocodone + acetaminophen is not that potent ( not strong as morphine ) as morphine .
So due to addiction of morphine your pain is not subsiding with hydrocodone.
2nd point you didn't mention the site of pain or type of pain , so it is very difficult to advise any medicine for pain .
In my opinion consult a psychiatrist and get his consultation regarding addiction of morphine.
