General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query and good indicative history.

This lump looks to be a lymph node; goes well with your history of pain in the same ear. The pain and the swelling of lump can be due to an infection in the ear canal. Occurs inadvertently, by self-cleaning habits or by furuncle.

take a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines for 5 to 7 days and both the problems will be solved.

An opinion of an ENT Surgeon to rule out a middle ear problem like otitis can be sought and you need to get a prescription too.
