General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Prescribed in the treatment of gastritis and stomach ulcers, rebamipide works by promoting prostaglandin production in the stomach; thereby protecting the lining of the stomach and scavenging free radicals in the body by virtue of it anti-oxidant property.

It is not indicated in the treatment of presbycusis. Generally, it is well tolerated by most of the patients.

However, its common side effects include allergic rash, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, altered taste sensation, and uterine contractions.

There are no documented adverse effects involving the cardiovascular system or any interactions with glaucoma medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
