What Is The Role Of Vagus Nerve During Hysterectomy?
Hi. I went in for a hysterectomy which went wrong. As surgeon cut me open my heart stopped so op was abandanded and I was stapled up. Apparantley it was a result of my vagus nerve. I have now been told they can attempt another hysterectomy and this time inject me with atripin if the same thing happens. I am worried incase the same thing happens. can a hysterectomy be performed while I am awake. I have mass fibroids that are not shrinking. I had artery embolization as an alternative but it now seems as if they are growing again. I am now waiting for an MRI to see what has changed. I am worried if I don t have a hysterectomy that everything could turn cancerous. Debra

Hi first thing fibroids changing to cancer is very rare, this time your operation will go on well do not worry, and hystrectomy can be done in an open method by giving spinal anasthesia were u can be awake without pain
