What Is The Risk Of Having A Placenta Touching The Internal Os?

Hi doctor,good morning.. I am 31 years old.now i am pregnant with 21 weeks.I have taken antenatal scan in 19 weeks.In the report it is there that "Placenta is posterior touching the internal OS."Posterior uterine wall fibroid.My weight is 68 kg and height is 174 cm.could u please explain me the risk and do and donts.. Thank u

Welcome to HCM
No need to worry if only placenta just touching the internal os.This is grade 1 placenta praevia.As uterus enlarges in coming weeks,Placenta can go far from internal os.
Or it can also encroach on the internal os. So serial scans are necessary.
If the size of the Posterior uterine wall fibroid is small,no need to worry.But if its large in size,it may cause problems during delivery.
So, i would suggest you to have regular follow up scans and consult your gynecologist regularly.
