What Is The Risk After Accidental Lancet Prick With Bleeding?
Accidental lancet prick with a lot of bleeding from a used lancet of someone with Hep C.
I know the virus can live for up to 4 days and the person had checked their blood in the AM with the same needle.
This happened in the afternoon.

Percentage wise (approximately) risk of complications from needle stick injuries is as follows.
1. Hepatitis B 30%
2. Hepatitis C 3%
3. HIV 0.3%
However lot depends upon 2 main factors
1. The severity of infection in whom the needle or lancet was used initially.
2. The immune status of the individual himself.
