What Is The Right Dosage Of Amoxicillin To Cure Ear Infection And Pink Eye?

My 15 year old 108# son was diagnosed with an ear infection and pink eye. The doctor told us one dose of amoxicillin/day for 10 days and eye drops every 4 hours daily +1 day until clear. We did not see the prescription as it was electronically transmitted to the pharmacy. Three days into the medication, I look at the label and says one table two times daily 875mg. My question is: what is the correct dosage?

Hi. The doses look adequate and preferred by many as twice daily. I would advise you to take this three times a day to get good results. Amoxicillin is a safe drug and can be given in a various doses as felt by the treating Doctor, who decides from the severity of infection on clinical grounds.
