What Is The Remedy For Viral Infection In An Infant ?
my 8 months old baby boy has a viral infection on his throat , he is always crying and can t eat well and can t suck on my breast , doc, what shall i do?

Thanks for the query.
He will require medication for his throat infection, you will need to visit a pediatrician .He might require antibiotics too.He might not feed well or breast feed due to his throat pain.Give him warm water to drink,soups,warm milk.You can avoid solid food till the pain eases.You also do steam inhalation through a steam inhaler machine by adding menthol drops too.

Please visit paediatrician at the earliest. How much does your baby weigh? Meanwhile, You could give him 2.5ml of paracetamol or calpol syrup(120mg/5ml) if he has no history of allergy to the drug. Paracetamol will take care of the fever, sorethroat. Let your paediatrician assess the baby. Sometimes antibiotics might be required if it is a bacterial infection.
