Noted the history related to your daughter going for a week.
She has running nose,
cough, lots of mucus , ear draining the discharge and now the
redness over her outer ear lobe. No energy and not much of appetite.
The most probably chronology may be as follows:
This must have been started with
flu hence the running nose, turned into
pharyngitis causing cough, the forceful coughing opens up the Eustachian tubes causing hte infection to go to the ear which in turn perforate the ear drums to cause discharge and secondary infection causes
dermatitis of the pinna/ear lobe
I would advise you the following:
You should not leave this to let it heal approach.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations of blood, X-rays and get started with proper antibiotics, oral and topical decongestants, supportive medicines in the form of multivitamins.
Continue the medicines till the child gets cured.
