What Is The Remedy For Soreness On The Palate ?

I have been treated by my dentist for 4 weeks now for an extremely sore palate . She tells me taht she sees my palatal rugae are inflamed but that there is no sign of specific ulceration/ broken skin but has treated me unsuccessfully for bacterial/ then fungal and finally steroid lozenges to no avail!! Nothing is working. She has also cured my gingival bleeding condition and instilled me with better oral hygiene measures - using interdental brushes and corsodyl but my palate is still agony. She thinks it might eb an allergy but what do you think. Its soooo painful!!!

the palate is divided into two parts the anterior or front one - hard palate and the posterior or back one- soft palate.
it is essential to know which part of the palate has been involved to arrive at a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan.
vitamin deficiency might be one of the reasons. but i think your dentist must have tried it.
are you taking too hot foods ?
you could also be allergic to some foods or liquids you regularly take. figure that out and of course you may have a consultation with me further.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Soreness on palate can be due to-1. denture stomatitis caused due to dentures or appliances inserted.
2.abscess developed due to spread of infection into periapical area through deep caries or periodontal infection.

I would suggest you to get a thorough clinical evaluation done.

Discontinue use of appliances or dentures causing allergy.

Pus if present has to be drained and curetted.

Take care.

Hi
Thanks for the guery,
Soreness on palate can be due to vitamin deficiency, allergy due to any food substance or mouthwash, any trauma, smoking etc.
You need to massage the affected area with "TRIGEL" 3-4 times a day for 1 week.
Take multivitamin capsules for 10 days.
Stop using mouthwash if you are using any.
Avoid carbonated drinks and crunchy food.
Take nutritious diet and have lemon water daily.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Soreness in the mouth can be due to infection in the anterior tooth, allergy to some food stuffs, nutritional deficiencies.
I would suggest you to visit to an Oral Surgeon and get the thorough checkup done, take an OPG radiograph which will give the exact diagnosis and treatment plan.
Apply Dologel oral ointment topically over the affected area.
Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Hope this helps out.

Regards...
