Neurologist 's  Response
Hello Hannah!

Welcome on HCM!

I carefully read your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a primary headache (like tension type or migraine).

But other secondary causes (like a brain lesion, or intracranial hypertension) can not be excluded either.

Is the pain throbbing or like pressure?
Is it diffuse or located in a specific region of the head?
Do you have other symptoms like intolerance to the light or noise during headache? What about nausea or vominting?

The answer to these questions would help orientations towards a certain diagnosis.

Anyway, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a brain MRI
- complete blood count for anemia
- inflammation tests (PCR, sedimentation rate).

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Greetings, Dr. Aida
