What Is The Remedy For Knee Pain After A Knee Injury?

I fell directly on both knees while I ve skating. It hurt severely after but went away within about 10-15min with only minimal pain. Two days later however I had severe pain again. It s been a little over 2 weeks now, and it still hurts. Only one, even though I fell on both. And not on the knee cap itself, but to the right and down a little bit. I can t twist my leg very well, and it hurts going up/down the stairs. And it hurts to be stretched. I m 23/female so my age shouldn t be a factor.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us
Do regular Exercise. Exercise can increase your endurance and strengthen the muscles around your joint, making your joint more stable. Stick to gentle exercises, such as walking, biking or swimming.
Lose weight if you are obese- Being overweight or obese increases the stress on your weight-bearing joints, such as your knees and your hips. Even a small amount of weight loss can relieve some pressure and reduce your pain.
Use heat and cold to manage pain. Both heat and cold can relieve pain in your joint. Heat also relieves stiffness and cold can relieve muscle spasms.
Apply over-the-counter pain creams. Creams and gels available at the drug store may provide temporary relief from osteoarthritis pain.
Take diet rich in calcium, vitamin d3 and minerals.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any more concern.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
