What Is The Remedy For Itchy Scalp?

My scalp has been very itching and oozing. When I dry my hair with a towel, there s light yellow residue (almost powdery), and neither me or my family can see any visible redness or irritation. If had this for a few weeks now and it s gotten progressively worse, and I have no idea what it is.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
The condition you described can be ascribed to simple dandruff or pityriasis capitis or it could of wider spectrum called seborrheic dermatitis.
I would recommend you a short course of antifungal drug like ketocinazole or itraconazole and antihistaminics. Apply a lotion containing betamethasone and sertaconazole/clotrimazole twice a day over scalp. Use medicated shampoo conatining ketoconazole, ZPTO and salicyclic acid twice a day for hairwash followed by a gentle conditioner. Avoid excessive oiling of scalp.
Hope this will take care of your issue.
Thank you
