hi....i am male 24 years......and hypertensive...as diagnosed by my cardiologist....but after 4 to 5 months of my strict diet i made my blood pressure to be 110/70....is that ok?.....whereas, nowadays, im experiencing a BP rate of 120/100 for many months.......could u suggest me the suitable measures?....whereas, during my dieting i also experienced this level of pressure....is that ok or not?
Your goal blood pressure should be less than 140/90, so a value of 120/100 would not be ok, where as 110/70 is OK. The top number os systolic blood pressure is OK, the bottom number or diastolic is above goal. Many patients despite weight loss and exercise, continue to have suboptimal numbers and need medications; talk to your physician about this possibility, and given your young age, determine if there would be a role to test for secondary causes of high blood pressure.
Hope that helps, wish you the best,
