What Is The Remedy For Fibromyalgia?

Hello. I am a 40 year old female. I weigh 143 pounds and am approximately 5 ft 2. I have been having back pain since 2010 and have been seeing a chiropractor every 2 weeks. I do Back strengthening stretches every day which takes me about 45 minutes. I had an x-ray done a few months ago and all it showed was some narrowing at the bottom of my spine which my family doc says nothing to worry about. I am waiting for the hospital to call to schedule an mri. I have more pain on my left lower area than the right side. Both my hips hurt and have pain and tightness in top of legs, and pain shoots down just past my knee. My family doctor diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. I have lumps to the left of my spine that feel like jelly, but feels good when i massage them. I am just wondering what all this could mean?

Hello,

As most times when there are spinal degenerative changes leading to nerve root entrapment leading to pain and aches. Usually, strengthening the muscles is the only choice for fibromyalgia pain. As there is inflammation in the fibers of the muscles the inflammation can be overcome by improving the metabolism of the muscle. Due to the weakness of the muscle fibers leading to fatigue to set in faster. Due to which the pain keeps occurring on and off.

Doing proper and guided exercises will help improve the overall muscle fiber function and give a good outcome score.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
