What Is The Remedy For Bee Stung?

My 10 year old daughter was stung by a bee on her hand yesterday morning at school. Her hand is pretty swollen and itchy. I am giving her Ibuprofen, putting on Caladryl and using ice. Soaking her hand in vinegar works well. How long should it take the swelling to go down because she is more worried than in pain? Thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to bee sting there has been allergic reaction to the chemical substance that is injected under the skin by the bee sting and it is leading to swelling and itching..

She needs not to worry as it is a localized allergic reaction and it will get resolved in a 3 to 4 days..
You can give her anti allergics like Benadryl or Levocetrizine to reduce the swelling faster..
Continue applying Calaryl that contains Diphenhydramine that is an anti allergic..
You should do cool compresses over it..
In case if there is pain anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can be advised..
In case of no resolution in next one week consult an Allergist and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
