What Is The Remedy For CTS Symptoms?

I am having CTS symptoms and as of late nothing has helped. It has only been a month since I had symptoms in one hand. I just went to take an EMG test today and the doctor said it looked normal. Is it CTS and should I still get the release surgery done?

Hi there. Sorry to hear about your Carpal Tunnel. Let me see if I can give you some information and put you in the right track to manage this issue.

Yes, there are EMG negative Carpal Tunnel Syndrome situations in which the patient has the clinical signs and symptoms of carpal tunnel yet have a negative EMG. But it may also not be Carpal Tunnel.

A good way to find out would be to purchase carpal tunnel wrist splints and wear them mostly at night for a couple of weeks to see if symptoms improve. If they do then it is likely that it is carpal tunnel.

I can recall one patient few years ago came with symptoms of CTS. The study was "normal". However, my Chief did the median nerve surgery. The patient improved.

So in this particular case. I'd go with the wrist splints first and see if you have any relief. If you do.. then the surgery ought to help. If they don't work. I would be very wary of getting the surgery done.
