What Is The Red Spot Moving Towards The Center Of My Eye?

Hello I am a female age 23, 5'3, 170lbs, I have no known illnesses or sicknesses besides asthma.
Sometime last week maybe Wednesday or Thursday I noticed a red spot on the whit part of my right eye. This spot was in the corner of my eye where I couldn't even see it unless I looked all the way to the left. I looked online and most things I read said this red spot was probably caused by a popped blood vessel and is harmless. However, since noticing this small spot in the corner of my eye the spot has spread closer to the center of my eyeball....Is this a normal part of the healing process like one of those things that will get worse before it gets better or should I consult a doctor? Also there is no pain or apparent vision lose associated with this issue-it's simply very physically unappealing and the fact that it is not shrinking in size but seemingly spreading is causing me to worry.
