What Is The Reason For Vomiting When Traveling?

Dear Sir.. I am 30 years old and suffering from problem travelling by bus / car. I vomit a lot while travelling. This problem is there since my childhood. Even if sometimes, I do not get vomiting, the continuous sensation of vomit makes me weak and sick. I have tried many remedies, but most of the times they do not work. Interestingly, I do not get vomit in city buses which have all open windows and open doors. I get vomit in closed buses and in cars. This become severe when weather is hot and there are ghat roads in travel. Also, many times, the smell insider car/bus makes me uncomfortable and cause the vomit. I am perfectly ok to travel by train. Also, by air, I do not get vomit, but, slight sensation of vomit was observed once. I tried smelling lemon, sipping ginger etc., but, things did not work. Can you please help me on this?

Thanks,

Ashish

Hello, The condition you mentioned is classically a motion sickness. If I am your treating physician I can advice you to take Promethazine theoclate tablet 25 mg, half an hour before travelling. If suppose you do not want to take treatment you can travel in the open circulating bus or car. The moment you put yourself in closed vehicle the vomiting center in the brain gets activated and cause vomiting. The drug I tell you to take is suppress the vomiting centre in the brain. Thanx
