What Is The Reason For Sensitivity, Swelling In Vagina, Spots On Vagina And When Will They Reduce?

Went to my OBGYN on Tuesday when I woke up with clear signs of an std - sensitivity, minor vaginal swelling and a few odd-looking spots. He did some swab and blood tests and I am waiting for the results. He also prescribed Acyclovir and Azithromycin in the meantime...

My question is, it has been three days now and the inner labia is now very swollen and sensitive. I assume I just have to wait for test results, but I'm very concerned about the amount of swelling. How much is normal? How long does it take for the swelling to reduce? Will it cause any longterm damage or disfiguration???

(Also, I have now been on ibuprofen for a day hoping to help the swelling but it hasn't done anything.)

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that the infection is virulant, and the antibiotic may not have suited for the infection.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, ornidazole, and diclofenac dsodium, and paracetamol.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
