Hi Dr. Grieg, I have a large red scar on my buttcrack. I never knew why it was so red but recently my boss pointed out that the girl I babysit (her daughter) has a scar in her buttcrack and she said it is from being sick as a newborn. Apparently they stick a needle in? or around your tailbone and it leaves a scar. have you heard of this before? is there a name for it? and can i use scar cream on it? Also, in general, my butt is always very red (aside from my crack). Sometimes when i wipe I notice a little bright red blood. I can feel where it is coming from (above my butthole by about an inch). I took a photo and i can t see a cut but that area is definitely red and this seems to be something that comes and goes pretty often. Do you know what it s from? is there just too much moisture back there causing the skin to rub and then tear a little? any info you have would be great. also i think i have a pilonidal sinus, but it s not infected and doesn t bother me. I just noticed it in the photo i took. Do I need to see someone about it if it s not bothering me? Can it be removed to avoid infection? It seems like everything that could possibly go wrong with my butt right now is so if you have any advice or info i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
