What Is The Reason For Absence Of Fetal Heartbeat?

I am supposed to be 10 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound yesterday measured the fetal pole at 8 weeks 3 days. On a previous ultrasound, 2 weeks ago, heartbeat was 160 but they could not find any cardiac activity yesterday with abdominal or vaginal ultrasound. Is there any possibility, no matter how small, that maybe the heartbeat was just missed and that I could still be carrying a healthy babe?

Hi, thanks for writing..
There is more chance of missed abortion rather than missing the heart beat.. But for confirmation, get a repeat scan to see for cardiac activity.. If still cardiac activity is absent, it would be better to undergo termination of pregnancy either by D and c or medical abortion.. Hope i have answered your query.. Good day..
