General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Meprate is a synthetic form of hormone progesterone commonly prescribed to help regulate ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and menstrual periods. It is also used to treat conditions such as delayed or irregular period.

Taking meprate for few days can induce withdrawal bleeding. Bleeding usually occurs within 5-7 days of stopping meprate.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
